Building on this foundation, Kathy pursued a Master of Social Work with a focus on Mental Health at the University of Southern California. With over 12 years of clinical experience, she has not only excelled as a therapist but also made significant contributions as an adjunct professor and supervisor in the field.

During your initial sixty to ninety-minute session with Kathy Wei, LCSW, you’ll work together to determine the most appropriate structure for your therapy. This collaborative approach ensures that your treatment plan aligns with your presenting symptoms and desired goals.
Follow-up sessions are forty-five to fifty minutes long and can be scheduled weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. The frequency of these sessions is entirely tailored to your presenting symptoms and individual goals, ensuring that your therapy continues to align with your needs.
To uphold our commitment to providing quality care and respecting the time of both our clients and clinicians, we maintain a policy regarding late cancellations and missed appointments.
We kindly request that you provide Kathy Wei, LCSW, with a minimum of 24-hour notice (weekends not included) if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Appointments canceled with less than 24-hour notice will incur a $100.00 late cancellation fee.
If you fail to show up for a scheduled appointment, a no-show fee will be charged.
Kathy Wei, LCSW, operates as an out-of-network provider and does not directly accept insurance. To make the process easier for our clients, we provide a detailed SUPERBILL, which contains all the necessary information for reimbursement. Clients can then submit this SUPERBILL to their insurance company to seek direct reimbursement based on their plan’s out-of-network coverage.
We encourage prospective clients to reach out to their insurance company directly to understand their specific reimbursement rates and policies. This ensures that individuals can make informed financial decisions while accessing our professional services.
Medicare Policy:
Please note that Kathy Wei, LCSW, is an opt-out Medicare provider. As such, we do not accept Medicare payments directly and cannot bill Medicare on your behalf. Clients wishing to use Medicare coverage for their therapy services will need to explore alternative providers within the Medicare network.
For prospective clients wishing to use insurance coverage through Anthem Blue Cross of California, Aetna, Health Net, or Managed Health Network, please complete the onboarding process on the OCTAVE website by clicking the button below. When filling out the "Scheduling Preferences" section, be sure to specify Kathy Wei, LCSW as your preferred clinician.
